The Le Mans Classic Weekend
The Classic takes place every other year and is a superb throw back to one of the most legendary races in the world. It is the biggest European assembly of historic cars - historic cars have universal appeal and there's no finer sight than a full grid of cars and drivers lining up, ears of corn style, to be first off on the formation lap.
396 cars whose common feature is to have taken part in the Le Mans 24 Hours between 1923 and 1979, will be divided into 6 grids according to their period. In keeping with tradition, the start will be at 16:00 on Saturday afternoon and the chequered flag will be hung out at 16:00 on Sunday.
The entry list is mouth watering: an Aston Martin LM 1931, a Ferrari 250 GT Bedinetta 1960, Ford GT 40's from the mid 1960's and the famous Porsche 917 from the early 1970's.
