The Le Mans Classic is held every two years; 2023 will see the 11th Le Mans Classic continue its' rapid ascendancy to being one of the great historic motor racing events. It will put together the cars which wrote the 24 Hour history book between 1923 and 1979 - in total, it is expected there will be more than 350 participants. 2023 will also be the 100th Centenary of the Le Mans 24 Hours 2023 - there is expected to be a month long celebration beginning at the the Le Mans 24 Hours and finishing at the Le Mans Classic. The cars will be divided into six grids, each representing a different era. They will follow each other on the track, hour after hour, for 24 hours. The start of the race will take the form of a traditional Le Mans start. In keeping with tradition, the start will be on Saturday at 16:00 with the finish 24 hours later. In 2023, as in 2022, the paddocks and village will open from Thursday afternoon. The event will revert to a biennial basis in 2023; therefore the next event after 2023 will be July 2025. The Le Mans Classic Weekend The Classic takes place every other year and is a superb throw back to one of the most legendary races in the world. It is the biggest European assembly of historic cars - historic cars have universal appeal and there's no finer sight than a full grid of cars and drivers lining up, ears of corn style, to be first off on the formation lap. 396 cars whose common feature is to have taken part in the Le Mans 24 Hours between 1923 and 1979, will be divided into 6 grids according to their period. In keeping with tradition, the start will be at 16:00 on Saturday afternoon and the chequered flag will be hung out at 16:00 on Sunday. The entry list is mouth watering: an Aston Martin LM 1931, a Ferrari 250 GT Bedinetta 1960, Ford GT 40's from the mid 1960's and the famous Porsche 917 from the early 1970's.
